This book is for the use of students of English, and its purpose is to help these students to improve their knowledge, understanding and usage of oral English. This is a practice book - not a textbook. Because it is a practice book, the most practical way to put it to use in the classroom is to practice and drill constantly with the exercises within it. Oral practice and drill with the exercises in this book can be done chorally and individually. Individual drill will give the student the best opportunity to perfect his use of oral English.

This
book contains four chapters. Chapter I contains examples, rules and exercises
in greetings, responses to greetings and ending in English conversation.
Chapter II contains commands and requests as they are used in English speech.
Chapter III contains one of the most important parts of English conversation -
the question. Questions are divided according to types and for each type
examples are given with possible answers and then exercises for oral practice
follow. Chapter IV contains fourteen dialogues in English. The content of these
dialogues covers those areas in English speech which students of English will
have the most opportunity to use in their everyday life.

Teachers
will find this practice book a valuable. teaching aid in the classroom. To
assist teachers - there is a special section at the end of each chapter giving
some suggestions for teaching and ideas for the development of further
exercises for use in the practice of oral English in the classroom.

Whereas
this book is intended for use as a supplementary book at the TriamUdom level,
teachers may find it practical to begin the presentation of the content at a
lower level. Teachers certainly should not attempt to teach'' everything in
this book. Rather, the material selected for practice from this book at each
level should be controlled by the aims and content of the syllabus for that
level,
